Sydney Opera House

EMS conducted an Occupational Noise Assessment for the chiller plant room of the Sydney Opera House for their chillers and chiller pumps to determine the noise exposure level within the plant room and possible treatment options via the acoustic modelling software SoundPLAN.

Sydney Metro Chatswood

EMS was engaged by RMA Contracting Pty Ltd to provide a Construction Noise & Vibration Impact Statement (CNVIS) for the Sydney Metro Chatswood Remediation Site to satisfy the NSW Government Planning & Environment Critical State Significant Infrastructure (CSSI) Conditions of Approval. EMS has also carried out attended noise and vibration measurements at and surrounding the site to compare against the predicted noise and vibration levels and assess the effectiveness of the noise and vibration mitigation measures implemented at site.

Envirolab Services, Chatswood

EMS has undertaken a number of acoustic assessments for Envirolab Services laboratory at Chatswood including the extension of operating hours DA acoustic report and assessment of indoor and outdoor mechanical plant as well as follow up compliance testing.

Burton Contractors, Kingsford to Centennial Park Walking and Cycling Improvements

In order to satisfy TfNSW G36 QA Specifications EMS compiled a Construction Noise & Vibration Management Sub Plan (CNVMSP) and conducted a Vibration Risk Assessment for the road upgrade works taking place over a 2.8 km stretch as part of the Kingsford to Centennial Park Walking and Cycling Improvements. Noise and vibration emission predictions were given at a vast number of receivers buildings as well as mitigation strategies. GIS data was imported and manipulated via SounPLAN and QGIS for the project. EMS has provided a number of CNVMSP and Vibration Risk Assessments for large scale road upgrade projects for Burton Contractors. EMS carried out attended and unattended noise and vibration monitoring throughout the project including OOHW monitoring.

Cleanaway Material Recovery Centre Rooty Hill

EMS was commissioned by FDC Construction (NSW) Pty Ltd to provide Greenstar v1.3 (Acoustic Comfort) design recommendations and compliance testing assessment for the refurbishment of the exiting onsite office building. The design report assessed interior noise levels with respect to traffic nose intrusion and building services, reverberation times and airborne sound insulation to adjoining office spaces.

NSW Department of Planning and Environment – Parks for People

EMS carried out Noise Impact Assessments for the NSW Department of Planning and Environment Parks for People program for a number of parks including Appin Park and Nandi Reserve (Frenchs Forest). The noise impact on the surrounding residential and non- residential noise receivers was assessed.

Waverley Council – Mitchell St N.Bondi and York Rd Queens Park

EMS was engaged by Waverley Council to conduct noise and vibration surveys in response to road traffic noise and vibration complaints of buses, heavy vehicles and vehicles going over a speed bump. The assessment was carried out in accordance with the NSW Government ECCW Road Noise Policy and the NSW EPA Maximum Noise Level Event assessment.
